We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Director to lead our team in providing exceptional care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving with experience working with the State of CT DDS, supervision of staff, and training employees. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through effective management, innovative programming, and a focus on individual needs.
Duties
Supervise, train, evaluate and provide support to Residential managers including but not limited to: licensing regulations, applicable state and federal regulations and agency policies and procedures.
Ensure that the homes are well maintained.
Assisting with staff supervision as needed and reviewing all documentation.
Ensure discipline is properly written and completed in a timely manner.
Participate in union grievances and assist managers with termination of staff.
Provides assistance in ensuring appropriate staff coverage for the homes and work direct care if needed.
Preparation for licensing in conjunction with Residential Manager
Review group home budget and fiscal status monthly.
Ensure that financial policies are being followed by all employees.
Ensure all recommendations for investigations and licensing are completed.
Ensure PRC/HRC packets are prepared and submitted on time.
Monitor budgeted staffing hours in the homes.
Assist with development of teaching strategies related to resident's outcomes as needed.
Skills
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with residents, families, and staff members.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Knowledge of meal preparation standards and dietary requirements for diverse populations.
