Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a positive environment for those in your care. This position requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Schedule:

Monday: 3:30pm-10:00pm Tuesday: 3:30pm-10:00pm Saturday: 10:00am-7:00pm Sunday: 3:00pm-10:00pm

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall health status. Provide personal care and support in a respectful and dignified manner. Implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each resident. Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Support individuals in community integration and participation in social activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.

Skills

First aid and CPR certification is preferred. Experience in group homes or assisted living environments is highly valued. Strong patient observation skills to monitor changes in behavior or health status. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting residents with mobility needs (e.g., using Hoyer lifts). Proficient in meal preparation and cooking for diverse dietary needs. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
