Established in 1995, S&L Lumber Contracting provides our commercial customers with an installation option for the products that we supply and produce at our six locations. Specializing in wood rough framing, asphalt shingle roofing, and cement/composite/wood exterior trims and sidings, we provide labor and material on many types of residential, multi-family, and commercial projects. Knowledgeable and experienced superintendents work with clients and carpenters to ensure project continuity and timelines are met on your project. In addition, our dedicated customer service department provides additional service on a completed project.

We are seeking a knowledgeable professional with diverse framing and product knowledge to join our team as the Residential Construction Project Manager.

Typical hours of work are Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Job Purpose:

Oversee all aspects of awarded scopes on projects from inception to completion

Scope of Responsibilities:

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage resources, schedules, and budgets. You will collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, SOV, and resource allocation.

Manage all billing, change orders, and back charges throughout the project

Assign and secure labor subcontractors

Estimate project costs and develop budgets on labor

Monitor project expenses and track costs against budget projections

Establish and enforce quality standards for awarded scopes of work

Monitor on site project progress and address any deviations from the plan

Attend jobsite meetings as required

Knowledge, Skill, Training, Licenses, Experience and/or Abilities:

2 Years of experience in residential construction

Basic math skills required

Strong problem-solving capabilities preferred

Candidate must be able to prioritize and remain organized at all times

Strong product knowledge required

Strong carpentry knowledge preferred

Management and/or leadership skills are required

Excellent communication skills required

Must hold valid driver's license

Equipment/Software/Technology used:

Frequent use of Windows PC

Frequent use of company vehicles or personal vehicle for company use

Frequent use of blue prints and/or layouts

Occasional use of office equipment (Microsoft Office 365, copier, scanner, printers, etc.)

Frequent use of project management programs such as ProCore, Textura, etc.

Essential physical and mental functions:

Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely

Must be able to climb in and out of vehicle.

Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs

Position requires occasional to regular twisting, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking (smooth and uneven terrain)

Working Conditions:

Combination of indoor, temperature-controlled conditions and outdoor weather conditions including cold, heat, ice, snow, rain, wind, etc.

Safety Requirements:

All employees are expected to adhere to the safety regulations set forth by OSHA and company policies. This may include, but is not limited to; eye protection in plants, hardhats outdoors, seat belts worn in all company vehicles, limited cell phone use and regular safety training.

Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
