Provides case coordination services, such as linking youth to other services, including medical. Coordinates treatment team meetings, manages documentation, and coordinates continued care. Provides strength-based treatment and behavioral interventions according to the Teaching Family Model and individualized treatment plans for youth experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Using a strength-based approach, provides behavioral health interventions and teaches skills using the Teaching Family Model.
Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills and good active listening.
Demonstrates sensitivity to youth and families from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and socioeconomic circumstances.
Demonstrates basic understanding of co-occurring disorders as well as the interrelationship of substance abuse and mental health.
Utilizes teaching techniques and interventions according to the Teaching Family Model and other common treatment modalities and effectively engages the clients within the treatment process.
Provides ongoing monitoring and interventions to ensure client safety. If a crisis or unsafe situation arises, informs supervisor immediately.
Documents daily progress notes in a timely manner according to agency standards, state regulations, and federal regulations.
Ensures privacy and confidentiality of client health information for all clients. Reports all breaches of private and confidential client data to supervisor.
Attends and participates in individual and group supervision/consultation according to policies.
Regularly attends program staff meetings and reviews meeting minutes after having been absent.
Coordinates medication management and medical appointments, including psychiatric appointments, completes documentation and updates parents/legal guardians and program staff.
Maintains Electronic Health Records, documents appointments on the program calendar, and ensures information is communicated with the team.
Monitors the self-administration of medication for young people in care. Updates medication documentation and inventory.
Assists with Intakes, completes Inventories, and ensures documents are saved in the Electronic Health Record.
Serves as the central point of contact for educational services.
Assists with Discharge Planning and setting up continued care services and appointments.
Other duties as assigned.

Services are 24/7. Therefore, non-traditional hours are expected including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
Certified in the Teaching Family Model.
Current and valid Alaska driver's license.
Basic Life Support.
First Aid.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
Experience Required
1 year of experience working with emotionally and/or behaviorally disturbed youth preferred.
Previous experience working with adolescents is required.
Knowledge of
Cultural issues in the treatment process.
Indicators of child abuse and neglect.
Mandatory reporting laws.
Microsoft Office software and EMR use.
Knowledge of the continuum of care, treatment modalities, and best practices
Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral health diagnoses common to young people, such as ADD/ADHD, ODD, Disruptive Disorders, Mood Disorders, etc.
Skills in
Applying basic principles of child development, behavioral health, and crisis intervention.
Following written protocols from medical, supervisory, and clinical personnel.
Effective oral and written communication.
Organization and prioritization of workload.
Time management.
Ability to

Work efficiently and effectively both independently and with internal/external stakeholders.

Maintain certification in the Teaching Family Model.
Work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, Certified Family Life Educator - Teaching Family Association, Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC, Driver License - State of Alaska, Heartsaver First Aid - American Heart Association
