We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chef Instructor to inspire and guide aspiring culinary enthusiasts in a vibrant learning environment. As a Chef Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in food preparation, baking, and culinary techniques.
Responsibilities:
Use recipes, lesson plans, and other tools to develop culinary experiences that are engaging, entertaining, and educational.
Exhibit correct culinary techniques/practices while maintaining cleanliness, organization of kitchen and equipment during scheduled instruction time.
Observe and evaluate students/participants' culinary skills and techniques.
Assist with varied cooking events and activities
Lead and facilitate engaging cooking experiences focused on food preparation, baking, and culinary skills for participants
Provide clear, detailed instruction on knife skills, food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen safety to ensure a safe learning environment
Demonstrate advanced culinary techniques rooted in food industry standards and hospitality best practices
Stay current with industry trends in the culinary industry to incorporate fresh ideas into lessons
Uphold high standards of sanitation and safety protocols throughout all classes to ensure compliance with health regulations
Requirements
An enthusiastic disposition and a genuine desire to impart culinary expertise and skills to others.
Ability to connect with an audience through storytelling and shared interest in food.
Proven experience in culinary arts with expertise in cooking, food preparation, and varied culinary techniques.
Strong background in food service management or restaurant experience is highly desirable
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
Prior teaching or adult education experience is preferred; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and enthusiastically
Knowledge of sanitation standards and food handling regulations within the food industry
Hands-on experience with food industry tools, equipment, and kitchen operations
Passion for hospitality and sharing culinary knowledge with diverse audiences
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed for class schedules
As a Chef Instructor at Hone-Sharpen, you'll guide guild visitors through engaging culinary experiences, leading classes alongside the Kitchen Coordinator and assistants. Your focus will be on maintaining class flow, encouraging participation, and ensuring food safety while creating delicious dishes.
This Position also has the potential to receive tips when paid by attendees

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
