Duties
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained and communicated to healthcare professionals
Support residents with memory care needs by implementing personalized engagement strategies and behavior management techniques
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring nutritional needs are met while maintaining a clean dining environment
Conduct routine cleaning of resident areas to uphold hygiene standards and create a safe living space
Document resident progress accurately and promptly
Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that respect each resident's preferences and needs
Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Qualifications
Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home & community care environments preferred
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory support techniques
Certification or experience in first aid and CPR required or obtainable upon hire
Familiarity with assisting residents with ADLs and personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges highly desirable
Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health deterioration
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
