Job Description

This is a part time15-hour Research Tech position in which the individual will work with a team of researchers to study education pathways and career trajectories for PhD recipients. The ideal candidate would have an interest and expertise in the economics of science and innovation, consumer / household finance, urban/regional economics, labor economics, education, and/or spatial econometrics. The researcher will support and conduct detailed complex scientific studies, assist in the management of one or more phases of the research effort; be responsible for the extraction, analysis and presentation of research data; coordinate the analysis of research findings and prepare detailed summaries for submission to the sponsoring agencies; be responsible for the development of research designs and procedures for data analysis on the project(s); write, edit and/or approve progress reports, technical reports and journal articles; edit grant proposals and draft IRB documents for submission; assist in the establishment of working relationships with potential sponsors and in the submission of detailed research proposals to governmental and private agencies.


60% - Support and conduct detailed complex scientific studies, assist in the management of one or more phases of the research effort; be responsible for the extraction, analysis and presentation of research data; coordinate the analysis of research findings and prepare detailed summaries for submission to the sponsoring agencies


30% - be responsible for the development of research designs and procedures for data analysis on the project(s)


10% - write, edit and/or approve progress reports, technical reports and journal articles; edit grant proposals and draft IRB documents for submission; assist in the establishment of working relationships with potential sponsors

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor's Degree with 1+ years of experience or equivalent experience required; 5 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 1 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.


Experience analyzing the restricted version of the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED).

Desired qualifications




degree in economics, public policy and management, sociology, finance, public health, or computer/library/information sciences is required by the start of employment; experience in a social science research capacity. Interest and expertise in the economics of science and innovation, education, consumer / household finance, urban/regional economics, labor economics, and/or spatial econometrics. Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing complex data sets preferred


Target Salary: $22.93 - $29.95
