Job Description

Overview:

The Department of Immunology maintains research programs that focus on translational and basic research in areas relevant to human disease. Our goal is to become a world-class center for the study of inflammation and the targeted development of novel therapeutics for both treatment and prevention of immune-mediated diseases.


What You'll Do:
Technical help in experiments and data analysis, record keeping, inventory, ordering, and mouse colony oversight. Conducts bench research experiments following appropriate protocols and procedures to achieve results Performs techniques such as tissue culture, PCR, immunohistochemistry, electrophoresis, protein purification, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, CRISPR-Cas9 editing. Records results and maintains accurate records of experiments Performs limited data interpretation and assists with basic statistics and analysis Maintains laboratory equipment and orders/keeps inventory of supplies Prepares stock solutions, reagents and other media If necessary, test the role of malaria proteins as potential vaccine candidates using mouse models.

Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through up to one year laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications

:

Bachelor's degree in science Familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures, including malaria parasite tissue culture, PCR, and basic understanding of gene editing technology.

Salary Range: Minimum $20.50, Midpoint $24.40, Maximum $28.30
