Salary: $8,159 to $13,575 per month (EM-05, Minimum to Maximum)

Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant\'s qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Duties Summary
Plans and directs an extensive departmental research and statistics program or functions as a statistical consultant in the evaluation and modification of statistical systems of State agencies and conducts statistical studies involving the gathering, analysis, evaluation and interpretation of broad and varied economic data pertinent to the formulation of economic goals and policies of the state; and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Basic Education: A bachelor\'s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, which included three (3) semester credit hours in statistics.

Specialized Experience: Three and one-half (3 1/2) years of professional work experience conducting research and/or statistical studies which involved planning and designing surveys; modifying and applying research and statistical methods and techniques to the collection and analysis of data; and preparing summaries or reports with data presented in graphic, narrative or numerical form.

At least one year of the required 3 1/2 years of Specialized Experience must be comparable to the Research Statistician IV level in the state.

Non-Qualifying Work Experience: Without other indication of professional statistical experience, work in processing of numerical or quantified information by other than statistical methods is not considered appropriate qualifying experience. Examples of such non-qualifying experience include statistical clerical work; statistical drafting; work requiring the calculation of totals, averages, percentages or other arithmetic summations; work involving the preparation of simple tables or charts; work requiring the verification of data by simple comparison or proofreading.

Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of work experience in the field of research and statistical analysis which involved supervising others in conducting research projects. Such experience must have involved:
1) planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing the work of others;
2) assigning and reviewing their work;
3) advising them on difficult work problems;
4) training and developing subordinates; and
5) evaluating their work performance.
Administrative Aptitude: Applicants must possess Administrative Aptitude.
