The Khurshid lab focuses on the alternative splicing in tumors, particularly examining how metabolic starvation and other factors within the tumor microenvironment affect the splicing of various genes and/ or the related RNA binding proteins to promote tumorigenesis.

Job Summary

Assists other research investigators by performing research and experimentation following established protocols. Leads a small project in the lab and performs experiments to generate data for publication. Assists with research projects. Makes intellectual contributions to current research activities and contributes to the design of experiments and new techniques. Prepares samples for testing and analysis. Perform basic lab experiments- cell culturing, western blotting, PCR and other molecular biology techniques etc.



Properly documents procedural actions as well as results. Analyzes and/or summarizes findings. Reviews and researches current literature as directed related to current research projects.



Basic or general knowledge of laboratory procedures required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a clinical, health or life science field required.



Demonstrated prior experience and competence in research a environment preferred.
