This 2nd shift, hourly position ensures our customers receive a quality die cast product by maintaining furnace conditions, training, and auditing the Remelt processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Performs all the goals, functions and responsibilities of a Remelt Operator, and Remelt Lead. Trains operators on the proper operations of bucket and forklifts. Maintains an adequate supply of alloys for casting operations. Works with materials lab to troubleshoot out of specification metal chemistry. Maintains metal temperatures at the proper levels in the break down furnaces. Cleans remelt furnaces. Trains operators on how to clean furnaces. Performs proper de-gassing procedures. Maintains a daily checklist per requirements. Audits stack furnace throughput. Audits daily tasks of Remelt Operators. Builds heat legs/thermocouple. Performs lockout tag out. Performs start up and shut down procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Certifications/Licenses:

Gibbs issued Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) License.

Experience:

Six months remelt experience required; prior powered industrial equipment experience preferred.
