POSITION SUMMARY





Collects, washes, presses and stocks linens used by staff and patients throughout the Health Center on a daily basis. Maintains linen, including inspecting and making repairs or requesting replacements. Reports directly to the Lead Laundry Worker.





PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





Checks and replenishes stock levels in all linen closets and linen-using programs on a regular basis.

Operates flat iron, steam press, large capacity washers, and dryers.

Washes, sorts and folds a variety of linen for patient care and staff usage at the Health Center and Long Term Care.

Mends and fabricates linen, drapes, gowns, uniforms, etc. as required.

Maintains laundry area in a clean and orderly manner.




Job Qualifications:



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS





RANGE 11:



Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate well and to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to operate moderately complex machinery, including sewing machine, and make minor repairs and adjustments.





RANGE 12:



Requires 2 years of experience in housekeeping or related field. Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate well and to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to operate moderately complex machinery, including sewing machine, and make minor repairs and adjustments.
