Job Overview

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for our New Endoscopy Unit

. This is a Full Time, Day shift in Charlottesville, VA!

Schedule:

Five 8-hour shifts: The Start time is variable between 630am and 8am.

No Nights or Weekends!

This role will support our new outpatient Endoscopy unit opening January 2026!

No Call Required.

Training will be within the main hospital endoscopy unit. The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator will be acting as charge and report to the supervisor and manager of the department. Will assist in our Pre/Post area or documentation as needed. Ideal candidates will have GI or procedural background and previous supervisory experience.

Endoscopy Unit:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital's Digestive Care Center's board-certified gastroenterologists, including two Gastroenterology physicians and a colorectal surgeon, treat a variety of diseases affecting the gallbladder, liver, mouth, stomach, intestines, pancreas, colon, and esophagus. The new department will have 4 procedure rooms and a 12 bed pre/post bay specific for our GI patient population. NO call is required but is available for additional hours in the main hospital Endoscopy unit.

The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Education

Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

Registered nursing License (Required) BLS required within 90 days of hire Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Experience

18 Months of acute care RN experience(required) Previous Endoscopy experience preferred Team work and communication skills required Supervisory and training experience preferred Sterile field, pre/post, and inventory experience preferred
