Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor provides clinical oversight, leadership, and support to direct care staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care. This role is responsible for supervising nursing operations, coordinating care plans, monitoring client health status, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting staff development. The RN Supervisor acts as a clinical resource and serves as the primary liaison between the organization, providers, families, and external partners.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight & Care Management



Conduct initial and ongoing nursing assessments for clients. Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans. Monitor client progress, vital signs, medication administration, and physician orders. Respond promptly to changes in client health status and provide clinical intervention as needed. Ensure timely documentation of nursing notes, assessments, and incident reports.

Supervision of Direct Care Staff



Provide day-to-day supervision to nursing assistants, caregivers, or direct support staff. Conduct regular staff check-ins, skill evaluations, and performance reviews. Offer coaching, guidance, and corrective action when necessary. Participate in staff training on clinical procedures, infection control, medication administration, and emergency protocols.

Compliance & Quality Assurance



Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, agency policies, and accreditation standards. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation practices. Participate in audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives. Oversee medication management, MAR reviews, and controlled substance documentation.

Coordination & Communication



Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, therapists, and external healthcare providers. Communicate updates to families, guardians, and case managers in a professional and timely manner. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care conferences. Act as an on-call resource for clinical questions or emergencies, as required.

Administrative Duties



Maintain schedules, staff assignments, and workload distribution. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training clinical staff. Ensure supplies, medical equipment, and emergency kits are stocked and operational. Prepare reports, incident summaries, and regulatory documentation as needed.

Qualifications



Current and active

Registered Nurse (RN) license

in the state of employment. Minimum

2-3 years of nursing experience

; supervisory experience strongly preferred. Experience in

home care, group homes, PRP, long-term care, behavioral health, or community-based services

is a plus. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly in emergencies. Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic health records (EHR).

Pay: $30.00 per hour
