The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly motivated, qualified individual to work as a Registered Nurse in the Clinical Health Services Division. This position will be located in the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison, Utah.

Example of Duties

• Acts within RN scope of practice to assess, treat, and coordinate patient care
• Works closely with providers and carries out provider orders.
• Delegates and supervises tasks assigned to unlicensed assist personnel.
• Documents assessment, care, and orders in the patient medical record

Typical Qualifications

• Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Utah
• Ability to observe details at close range and at a distance
• Ability to observe physical conditions, behavior or surroundings for potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity
• Ability to hear sounds that may indicate potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity

• Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
• Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
