We're looking for compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Admission Testing team at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center. As part of our dedicated care team, you'll provide safe, patient-centered care while working in a collaborative and supportive environment where your skills truly matter.

Job Overview:

This is a Registered Nurse who coordinates the pre-operative readiness for elective


procedure cases undergoing general anesthesia. The goal of the Pre Testing Nurse is to get a


patient ready for surgery by completing pre op orders, gathering clearances, other required


tests and labs needed for surgery, and educating patient prior to surgery. By achieving this


goal, the Registered Nurse provides care to reduce day of surgery cancellations.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or related specialty setting preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

Current RN license in the applicable state.

Communication Skills

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read and follow instructions on screen or in print. Excellent listening, telephone, and basic counseling skills.

Math Skills

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning & Clinical Skills

Strong nursing process skills with the ability to prioritize symptoms and patient needs. Able to assess situations, gather accurate data, follow appropriate guidelines, and make sound decisions. Excellent time-management and prioritization skills.

Computer Skills

Basic computer and keyboarding skills; comfortable with Windows operating systems. Able to enter, retrieve, organize, and analyze data from multiple systems. Able to manage multiple applications and troubleshoot basic system issues within the call center environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned: RN must be able to demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to provide
patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

The nurse also adheres to the American Nurses Association Bill of Rights by
establishing and maintaining workplace expectations and environments which


support sound professional nursing practice.

RN must be able to successfully demonstrate the staff requirements as specified in
the specific Pre Testing Scope of Service, and complete the Care Center's specific


competencies, and meet/exceed the Pre Testing Standards.

Obtain pre-operative testing as needed. Obtain physician order as needed. Ensure patient data is analyzed and appropriate action taken. Demonstrates computer and systems competency in the following areas: enter data;
retrieve data; assemble and organize data; use and analyze data; integrate diverse


sources of data; electronic medical record (EMR).

Compensation:

Hourly Range - $31.25-$46.88

Incentives:

Eligible for evening/night, weekend shift incentive based on company policies and applicable job codes. Additional details will be provided during the interview process.
