Job Description

Nimel Mental Health, an accredited outpatient mental health agency is seeking a registered Nurse (RN) for its partial hospitalization program. The partial hospitalization program fills a gap in mental health services by providing supportive and structured crisis intervention for individuals that require a more intensive mental health care than a weekly counseling or psychiatric appointment can provide. It may also be utilized as a step down from inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Job Duties

:

Works as part of an interprofessional team made up of Psychiatrists, counselors/therapists, to provide safe and effective care for patients diagnosed with behavioral health disorders

Admits new patients with history of mental health and substance disorders Conduct initial and ongoing client screenings and assessments, documenting findings in a timely manner. Observe clients for signs of abnormal physical or mental behavior and report significant concerns to the clinical director. Facilitates an orientation group for patients Lead and facilitate scheduled group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups using evidence-based practices. Introduce topics, guide discussions, and encourage active participation from all clients. Implement curriculum for groups on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, life skills, and addiction education. Monitor group dynamics and manage conflicts to maintain a positive and productive environment. Participate in staff meetings and provide training on therapeutic and mental health topics. Serves as a liaison between physician and patient for medical questions and concerns Observe clients for signs of abnormal physical or mental behavior and report significant concerns to the clinical director. Provide crisis management and intervention for clients in distress. Oversee and manage medication administration and address any emergent medical needs of patients.
Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships

Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning Documents all patient care activities in the electronic health records. Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery and ensures that the process for delivery of care is synthesized from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and symptoms
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Provide nursing care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics

May perform additional duties as assigned

Skills & Requiements:


- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

- 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience (required in Mental Health)

- Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.

-Certification: BLS certification required.

- Licensure - Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.

- Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.

-Proficient computer skills required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $40.66 - $45.00 per hour
