Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse as an Emergency Room Nurse performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for the patients. Meets Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. Supervises assigned personnel. Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments.

The Registered Nurse as an Emergency Room Nurse performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients. Meets Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. Supervises assigned personnel. Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to assess patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.

Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedure. Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

Graduate of a school of nursing - required

License/Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada - Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life (ACLS) - Required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - Required
• CPI must be obtained within (90) ninety days from date of Hire/Transfer
• Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) - Required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within nine months of employment hire/or Transfer date.

Experience:

• Minimum two (2) years\' experience in an emergency department of an acute care facility - Preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year critical care experience and/or the successful completion of a recognized critical care course or orientation to Emergency Nursing Course.
