Job Summary and Qualifications: RN Critical Care Resource- Full-Time Mixed Shifts

As the Critical Care Resource Nurse you will work in the ICU, NICU, PCU and ED. You will exemplify professional nursing practice through expert clinical practice, strong leadership skills, and management activities. You will provide clinical management to the department through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the care of patients. You will delegate duties to staff members within their scope, while acting as a resource and utilizing the chain of command if necessary. You will be part of a team that provides quality patient care. In this role:

You will be responsible to include but are not limited to: fiscal, human resource and operational functions which may include involvement with staff performance appraisals, staff disciplinary measures, and policy and procedure development.

You will function as a leader, clinical resource, negotiator, coach and mentor while overseeing the department and performing delegated duties.

You will demonstrate the ability to provide direct patient care and have additional charge nurse responsibilities - able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

You will supports Patient Safety initiatives by recognizing, reporting, and promoting a safe environment. Maintains 98% eMar Scan Rate

You will provide patient/family education with regard to assessing ability to learn, special learning needs, and evaluating effectiveness of teaching

You will provide clear, concise and pertinent direction to the care team, based on resources, identified patient care needs and nursing staff skill level, documents critical incidents, uses time and supplies resourcefully, functions as charge nurse as needed

You will document assessments, interventions and evaluations of care objectively and timely, using the computer technology required by the department.

You will approach conflict, and facilitate resolution to conflict, in an effective, appropriate and timely manner. You will seek assistance from manager/director or HR to resolve conflict if necessary

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or actively pursuing with completion within 3 years of hire required.

Two to four years clinical experience required. One to three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in charge/supervisory role desirable. Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Utah or Registered Nurse compact license from participating compact states.

American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
