:

The Referral Triage RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating referrals of patients to determine patient acuity and need.

This position triages incoming referrals to multiple medical specialties to ensure urgent patients are scheduled appropriately. This position involves keen assessment skills, good communication skills and critical thinking. This nurse works with multiple clinics, providers and caregivers to ensure optimal care of patients. This position will fall into the Flex Home work category to involve some in clinic and some virtual work.

Job Specifics

  • Benefits Eligible: Yes;
  • Shift Details: Monday through Thursday 7:30 Am to 5:00 Pm
  • Location: McKay Dee Rheumatology Clinic
  • Additional Details: This will not be a remote position. Some travel to other Rheumatology clinics will be needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current RN Licensure in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Good assessment skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to determine patient status from patient history, lab work, imaging results
  • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Experience within hiring specialty
  • Outpatient clinical experience
  • 5 years clinical experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess patient needs.

  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $35.29 - $52.94
