Monitor patients' vital signs and level of consciousness post-surgery
Administer medications for pain management and other post-operative care
Assess patients for signs of post-operative complications and intervene as necessary
Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals
Document patient status, treatments, and clinical findings accurately
Prepare patients for discharge once they meet the required criteria
Implement infection control measures
Assist with patient transfers to appropriate care units
Respond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate interventions
Maintain a clean and safe environment in the PACU
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families
Operate and monitor medical equipment used in post-operative care
Ensure proper patient identification and maintain patient confidentiality
Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated with best practices
Education
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience
Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience
Experience in a PACU or critical care setting
Licenses/Certifications
Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
