Location: Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii
Position: Registered Nurse \xe2\x80\x93 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from a nursing program accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and National League for Nursing. International graduates must have a valid Full Education Course-by-Course Report from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Schools.
Experience: Minimum of three years as a registered nurse, including at least one year of recent PICU experience.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities:
Perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and administer critical medications.
Assist with complex procedures such as cardioversion, central line insertion, and intubation.
Operate and monitor complex medical equipment like ventilators and hemodynamic monitors.
Provide comprehensive patient and family education on medication reactions, health maintenance, and illness prevention.
Manage care for patients on multiple medications and complex technical equipment, including performing thorough assessments and taking immediate corrective actions.
Staffing and Scheduling:
Rotating 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts, covering all days including nights, weekends, and federal holidays. Shifts do not exceed 12 hours within a 24-hour period or 80 hours over a 14-day period.
