Job Description

Communicare is a community mental health center in North Central Mississippi that serves Calhoun, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Tate and Yalobusha counties. Communicare offers specialized treatment services for adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, individuals with substance abuse disorders and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Communicare is currently seeking a RN (Registered Nurse)

The Mental Health Nurse is responsible for managing and directing the medical clinics at the various office locations. This requires meeting with clients, consulting with physicians, completing reports and other consultation with other professionals in the office, and general office management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinating all activities regarding required nursing duties and responsibilities,
• Assisting the psychiatrist/physician during medication clinics
• Monitoring client progress and problems between medication clinics and reporting relevant findings to the psychiatrist/physician.
• Counsel clients on importance of following medication regimen and observe client\xe2\x80\x99s response to medication.
• Complete reports, records, logs and other required data as required for client records
• Conduct in-service training sessions for staff.
• Conducting intakes.
• Attending administrative and clinical staffing
• Providing various forms of therapy (individual, group, family, marital) as appropriate to level of training.
• Receiving clinical supervision.
• Participating in consultation and education activities.
• Consulting with other staff members regarding clinical cases and issues. Other duties will be assigned by the direct supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

\xc2\xb7 RN Licensure.

\xc2\xb7 CPR/BLS

\xc2\xb7 Ability to relate to mental health and substance abuse clients.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work independently and accept supervision.

\xc2\xb7 Valid MS driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, personal auto, liability insurance and Communicare insurable driving record.\'

\xc2\xb7 Acceptable criminal background check.

\xc2\xb7 Must be CPI certified or able to complete CPI training and any other training required by DMH and Communicare.
