Job Description

Currently seeking Registered Nurses to support the Cheyenne River Health Center Outpatient Department.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of (2) years of experience as a registered nurse, with (1) year of experience in an Ambulatory Care setting, (1) year experience in IV infusions. (1) year experience in IV starts, accessing PICC lines and/or ports.

2. Current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States

3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

4. Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency at the time of the program was completed

Tasks:

1. Receive, initiate and carry out medical orders placed by the provider: administer medications, oxygen, and a variety of treatments.

2. Manage a wide variety of therapeutic devices such as drainage, feeding and suction tubes also respiratory and electrocardiograph machines and other medical equipment and supplies.

3. Measure and assess vital signs, height, weight, and neurological status, effects of medication, visual acuity and hearing.

4. Observe and document patient care provided changes in patient's conditions, observations and other designated unit activities in the accepted format and form.

5. Collaborate and coordinate patient care with other health care providers and hospital staff.

6. Working knowledge of adult and pediatric immunization schedules and administration practices.

7. Perform quality control for lab checks, capillary blood glucose monitoring checks, etc.

8. Collect or assist in collection of specimens, i.e., blood, urine, stool, etc.

9. Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate and maintain resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate and in collaboration with the medical provider recognize adverse reactions to medications, treatments, and procedures and initiate interventions in collaboration with the medical provider.
