Job Summary and Qualifications

Shift: DAYS 7a-7p, rotating weekends

The Neuro Trauma Specialty Unit is a high performing unit that exceeds quality measures. This department received HCA\xe2\x80\x99s 2022 Unit of Distinction award and placed 32nd out of all HCA facilities! That\xe2\x80\x99s in the top 3% of HCA! The Neuro Trauma patient population includes adults of all ages with a variety of neurologic and/or trauma conditions. This team works with patients who have suffered strokes, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and much more. One of the defining features of Neuro Trauma is how emotionally rewarding it is to care for these patients. This unit gets to see the impact that their work makes by watching their patients walk again, speak and start performing daily functions. What you will do in this role:

• You will be responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• You will be responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for the department specific patient population in accordance with the standards of nursing care and practice as defined by Wesley Medical Center and the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
• You will be collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• You will be supporting the organization\xe2\x80\x99s vision and mission.
• You will be utilizing knowledge of patient\xe2\x80\x99s age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. You will contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

What qualifications you will need for this role:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure in the State of Kansas a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
