Under the direction of the Department Chief Physician and Nursing Supervisor, this Registered Nurse position is responsible for effective care delivery and management of patient care within our Cardiology practice. This department cares for patients across various stages of life and multiple Cardiology disciplines such general cardiology, congestive heart failure, and electrophysiology.


Primary duties include high quality phone triage for symptoms and clinical assessments, review of lab and test results, and providing thorough patient education. The Cardiology Nurses also perform patient visits for blood pressure assessments, medication teaching, and administration of medications. This role assists in supporting on-site diagnostic Cardiology testing such as echocardiography and stress testing. The Cardiology nurses work closely with providers to ensure efficient and outstanding quality of care.


This registered professional nurse provides practice support to a clinical team, recognizing the patient as the central focus, providing age-appropriate nursing care to patients across the lifespan. This position utilizes the nursing process and adheres to current standards of nursing practice. Communicates and coordinates effectively with all entities involved in the care of the patient to promote safe, high-quality, well-rounded care. Decision-making is reflective of critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Graduate of a State-approved school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Possess a current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for Cardiology, but can be obtained after start of employment.

EXPERIENCE

Strongly prefer minimum of 1 year of RN experience. Experience with an electronic medical records system required.

SKILLS

Must exhibit strong critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and patient interviewing skills. Highly motivated, proactive, and self-directed. Possesses ability to interpret clinical information, assess the implication of treatment and develop and implement a plan of care. Demonstrates ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple demands. Is up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty. Demonstrates excellence in practice, documentation and cost effective care utilization. Maintains high patient satisfaction. Possesses ability to work effectively as part of a team. Fluent in basic computer skills.



The hourly range for this role is $38.66 to $71.87 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Atrius Health complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
