Job Summary:

The Critical Care Flex Intern RN is a motivated, flexible, team-oriented registered nurse that will be oriented to and work in any department, any shift. The primary clinical areas of work include ICU and ED. Rotation to Med Surg, Oncology and PACU will occur as needed . This Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for patient care in any department in which she/he works. The Critical Care Flex Intern RN (CCFI-RN) utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The CCFI-RN provides patient services while collaborating with physicians, staff members, and ancillary/support services. The CCFI-RN provides care in compliance with hospital policies and the standards of practice of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). In addition, the CCFI-RN possesses knowledge of CMS (HCFA) standards specific to Critical Access Hospitals, New Hampshire Department of Health guidelines, New Hampshire Board of Nursing rules, and the rules, regulations, policies, procedures and Standards of Nursing Practice. Qualifications Level 1 Intern: Current RN license in the State of New Hampshire. Current BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to hire. TNCC and PALS required within one year of hire. Basic EKG course (minimum 24 hours) required prior to hire. Must be able to pass dysrhythmia exam with score 80% or greater. Critical Care Course (including ventilator management) required within first year of hire. Preference will be given to candidates that have completed prior to hire. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills required. Strong team player approach and flexibility to work any department and any shift. Computer proficiency required. Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training within 6 months of hire. Completion of two (2) years of relevant experience prior to advancement to Critical Care Flex RN Completion of task orientated competencies to qualify for advancement to Critical Care Flex RN. Level 2 Intern: All requirements as Level 1 plus; Current clinical experience for at least two (2) years Acute Care required; relevant healthcare experience may be considered as part of this requirement. Completion of task orientated competencies to qualify for advancement to Critical Care Flex RN.
