Job Title: Registered Nurse Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU), you will provide specialized care for patients who are critically ill or have life-threatening conditions in the Intensive Care Unit. You will monitor patients closely, administer medications, perform procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide the highest quality of care to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor patient's condition, vital signs, and symptoms.
2. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
3. Perform invasive procedures such as inserting central lines, intubation, and ventilator management.
4. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
5. Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
7. Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards.
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous education to stay up-to-date with best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certifications.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Intensive Care Unit.
4. Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
7. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
