Work Type: PRN

FTE: As Needed

Work Schedule: No Hours Assigned

This position is eligible for a $10,000 (minus tax) sign on bonus that is paid out incrementally.

Summary:

The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care using the nursing process. This position works under the supervision of the RN Manager of Ambulatory Nursing. Registered Nurses are actively involved in Patient Education, Continuing Care and other responsibilities as noted below.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND WORK ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess patient\xe2\x80\x99s condition including physical, psychological, educational, social and spiritual and home care needs. Exercise independent judgment in setting goals and directing appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals, including consideration for any needed adjustment of care plan and treatments for age /development of patient.
  • Exercise independent judgment in providing leadership through planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating nursing care of Practice patients, with accountability if such care is not rendered correctly. Provides guidance and acts as clinical resource/mentor as needed. Help other staff members when needed.
  • Administers direct care to patients using professional nursing skills and judgment in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Documents nursing interventions, patient responses, effectiveness and complications according to policy and procedure. Communicates information to peers and providers appropriately, provides concise reports to others when needed to ensure follow through on patient needs.
  • Promotes a professional atmosphere in the practice through interactions with all members of the healthcare team. Collaborates with other disciplines. Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients and families while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt and adjust to changes within the practice and or other practices to accommodate census fluctuation, change in patient acuity and or staffing.
  • Is responsible for ensuring supplies and equipment is available for the practice patient needs and maintains a safe and clean working environment. Follows organizational safety standards.
  • Contribute to the Performance Improvement of the practice by performing data collection, monitoring activities and incident investigation when needed. Willingly and actively participates on assigned committee or team project.
  • Demonstrates ability to utilize electronic systems including charting & scheduling to meet the needs of our practice patients.
  • Assess personal learning and skill development needs and seeks educational opportunities. Completes staff development records and maintains certifications and competencies. Attends all required meetings unless with a patient or approved absence
  • Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of our organization. Actively participates in meeting our practice goals and objectives.
  • Complies with Inland Hospital Hand Hygiene Standards.
  • Adheres to Inland Hospital Standards of personal Conduct.
  • Perform Medicare Wellness visits per established process.
  • Perform Triaging of patients using triage Manuals provided and see patients using established joint practice protocols
Other Information:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

Must be currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Maine. Must be fluent and literate in the English language.

EDUCATION

Graduate from accredited school of nursing.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years nursing experience preferred.
