Job Description


External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $10,000 (prorated for part time roles). A relocation package of $9,200 (pro-rated for part-time roles) is also available for relocating applicants.

As a nurse on a medical telemetry specialty unit, you will provide care to patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems and diseases. Medical nurses have a solid knowledge of diseases and body systems, and are skilled at multi-tasking and high-level critical thinking. Every patient presents with individual medical, psychosocial, and behavioral needs for whom the medical nurse is skilled at developing and implementing a patient-centered plan of care.

McClure 6 is newly established as a medical unit. Joining this unit provides you with a unique opportunity to help build a new team, a new unit, and a new culture. We are seeking nurses and support staff who have strong team skills and work well with change. There will be opportunities for professional engagement with the planning, team building, training, and clinical practice development.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as required.

EDUCATION:

State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.

EXPERIENCE:

Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.

Greater than one year of experience.
