JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrates the knowledge and judgment needed to utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate each patient\xe2\x80\x99s nursing care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure/Registration/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS certification for health care provider ; ACLS preferred

Work Experience: 1 year minimum nursing experience in acute care setting. Completes probationary period with satisfactory evaluation.

Physical & Other Factors: On feet most of the day. Frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment.

Work & Environmental Conditions: Exposed to patients\xe2\x80\x99 conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells and contagious diseases.

Job Relationships (Responsible to/for, works with): Responsible to the Director. Responsible for Licensed Practical Nurse and/or Ancillary personnel assigned to him/her. Works effectively with members of the health care team, administrative personnel, and maintains a cooperative working relationship intra-departmentally and inter-departmentally.
