Job Summary:

The Emergency Room RN provides direct nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role involves delivering high-quality, compassionate care, managing acute and critical cases, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Emergency Room. Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation as required. Monitor, assess, and document patients' condition, response to treatment, and progress. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to implement treatment plans. Adhere to hospital policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols. Support patients and families with education, emotional support, and discharge planning. Respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies, trauma, and life-threatening conditions.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of Emergency Room nursing experience. Proficiency in IV insertion and phlebotomy. Experience with conscious sedation.

Education Requirements:

Associate's Degree (ASN, ADN) in Nursing from an accredited program.

Licensure & Certifications (Required):

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State. Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration from the NYS Department of Education (NYSED). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - required only at Bellevue, Kings County, and Jacobi locations.
