Global Open Wound Care is a mobile wound care clinic specializing in chronic wound care. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with experience or strong interest in wound management to join our team. This role focuses on conservative care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, emphasizing evidence-based, non-surgical interventions to promote healing, prevent complications, and improve quality of life.
Job Overview
Our providers travel to the patients and collaborate with home health agencies and other healthcare professionals for treatment plans. We will supply you with all the materials you will need for successful treatment. Home health experience is a plus. eClinicalWorks experience a plus.This position is ideal for nurses passionate about hands-on patient care and building relationships while focusing on non-surgical, conservative treatment of wounds. You will play a vital role in improving healing rates, reducing hospitalizations, and enhancing the overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including size, depth, drainage, tissue type, and signs of infection
Develop and implement individualized conservative wound care plans in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams
Perform wound cleansing, dressing changes, topical treatments, compression therapy, and negative pressure wound therapy as appropriate
Provide patient and caregiver education on wound prevention, skin integrity, nutrition, and home care strategies
Document assessments, interventions, and progress in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, home health staff, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Monitor and report changes in wound condition, escalating care as needed
Support infection control practices and maintain proper use of wound care supplies and equipment
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience; wound care or home health experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in patient-centered settings
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
