Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care across various settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and specialized units such as ICU, PICU, or emergency departments. The RN will utilize their expertise in medical documentation, patient assessment, medication administration, and advanced procedures to ensure optimal health outcomes. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is preferred. Candidates with specialized skills in areas like wound care, IV infusion, ventilator management, trauma medicine, or hospice & palliative medicine are highly valued. Duties

Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs and physiology evaluations. Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, ostomy care, and sterile processing. Manage airway equipment including ventilators and perform airway management as needed. Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, sonography, mammography, and medical imaging procedures. Document patient care activities thoroughly in electronic health records systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to medical terminology standards. Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal patients on ventilators or with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer's patients, and those requiring hospice or palliative services. Participate in discharge planning and case management to ensure continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Engage in infection control practices and maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques during procedures like phlebotomy or specimen collection. Assist with complex cases involving trauma medicine at Level I/II Trauma Centers or emergency room environments requiring triage and acute pain management. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans aligned with NCQA standards and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Valid RN license in the state of practice with current CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support). Proven experience in hospital medicine, ICU/CCU/PICU settings, emergency medicine, or post-acute care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience administering injections (IM/IV), managing ventilators, performing venipuncture/IV insertion/catheter care is preferred. Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent communication skills working with patients of all ages--including children--and working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges. Knowledge of infection control protocols and experience working within compliance standards such as HIPAA and NCQA standards is essential. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights or weekends is a plus; however, this role primarily involves inpatient/outpatient care during regular hours depending on the unit needs.
