We are offering a Cardiac Surgical ICU Internship for Registered Nurses that are interested in learning Critical Care and Cardiac Nursing.
This 13-week paid internship will be didactic cardiac classroom lectures with modules, ICU documentation and initiatives, Code Blue review, Pulmonary/Vent lectures, Organ Management lectures, GI & Nutrition, Renal and hematology lectures, Self-Care, and Simulation Lab training.
Unit Description:
20 Bed cardiac surgical ICU
Nurses handle 1-2 patients on this unit based on acuity level.
Nurses provide service to any patients that have undergone open heart surgeries such as CABG, Valve repair or replacement, aneurysm repair, TAVR, ablations, Heart Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support devices including the Total Artificial Heart and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and various lung surgeries.
Nurses manage critically ill patients that require intensive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, multiple drug infusions, IABP therapy and CRRT.
Will consider a Registered Nurse with 1 year of IMCU or Stepdown, 1+ years of Medical/Surgical experience or a RN with PCU or ICU experience.

Education: Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree RN, or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree RN. All new RNs who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within 24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5 years of hire.
All Direct Care RNs required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
