Duties
Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to support clients' developmental goals.
Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and response to interventions to inform ongoing treatment planning.
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting to promote independence.
Support teaching sessions that enhance communication skills, social interactions, and adaptive behaviors tailored to each client's needs.
Maintain detailed medical documentation and adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to develop, review, and update individualized care plans and behavior management strategies.
Monitor client safety during therapy sessions and provide patient care that promotes a supportive and nurturing environment.
Use effective behavior management techniques to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors in a respectful manner.
Engage with families by providing updates on progress, offering guidance on behavior strategies at home, and supporting family training efforts.
Ensure all documentation aligns with medical records standards and accurately reflects client progress within the scope of medical terminology.
Requirements
Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment.
Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder.
Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management strategies.
Strong ability to collect, analyze, and document data systematically for progress tracking.
Compassionate approach with excellent teaching skills aimed at empowering clients toward greater independence.
Familiarity with special education practices and patient care standards in behavioral health settings.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Basic understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and care planning processes related to behavioral health.
