Responsibilities
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, eating, and communication skills development
Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and response to interventions to inform ongoing treatment plans
Use positive reinforcement strategies to promote desired behaviors and manage challenging behaviors effectively
Support clients during therapy sessions by teaching new skills and encouraging social interactions in various settings
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding client confidentiality and handling medical records securely
Collaborate with team members to update care plans and ensure consistency across all interventions
Document medical terminology, behavioral health notes, and progress reports clearly and thoroughly in medical documentation systems
Participate in ongoing training related to special education, behavior management, and medical recordkeeping to enhance professional skills
Qualifications
Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred
Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, especially Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), is essential
Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and HIPAA regulations
Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and implementing behavior management strategies
Demonstrated ability to teach new skills through data collection and positive reinforcement methods
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and team members
Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed
Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required; ongoing training provided for professional growth
