Regional Workforce Advisors (RWAs) work in the Office of Statewide Workforce Development, which was created by agame-changing new law that drives connections among education, business, and communities to build a competitive talentpipeline. There is one RWA assigned to each of the 12 Local Workforce Development Areas across the state. RWAs loveworking in an educational setting on a daily basis. A successful RWA bridges gaps at the local level to give students theinformation and support they need to reach their potential as they enter South Carolina\'s workforce - whether that isimmediately after high school or upon completing post-secondary education. RWAs are constantly researching localworkforce conditions, seeking out opportunities, and planning events that bring teachers, administrators, and studentstogether with industry leaders to learn more about the great high demand, good paying jobs available in South Carolina.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor\'s degree and relevant training and experience; OR any equivalent combination of education, relevant training and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.

Candidate must reside or do business in Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to cultivate positive and collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels of this organization as well as education and business organizations within the workforce region. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with discretion, diplomacy and tact. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple complex programs and events simultaneously, including managing the roles of various participants in projects, setting schedules and meeting deadlines without supervision. Global Career Development Facilitator (GDCF) verification or equivalent certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
