The Regional VP of Operations will report to the Divisional Vice President and be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations in a Region. The Regional VP of Operations will serve as an intermediary between employees and upper management and provide leadership and guidance to all direct reports. A key element of this position is the ability to assemble and develop an effective management team that will be directly responsible for all aspects of producing, marketing, and selling the company's products and services.
Responsibilities:
Promotes Safety programs (Mauser's Safety & Health Management System Handbook) at all locations ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of Safety
Oversee the plants P&L statement and performance vs budget
Monitors the Variable and Labor Expenses, by plant, to meet budget goals
Works with Engineering and fabrication teams to resolve process and equipment issues, and implement new technology/automation solutions in the plants
Ensures plants maintain and audit against the Mauser Quality System, Divisional requirements and UN/DOT test requirements to ensure world class quality for our customers
Presides over Continuous Improvement Projects to minimize waste and improve efficiencies
Evaluates ways to reduce costs in all areas of the business segment by leading EIP ideations and execution for the region.
Leads monthly cross-functional meetings with Direct Reports and S&OP Director to review performance and set requirements plan for upcoming month
Works closely with other Regional VP's and team members for the benefit of the consolidated Divisional results
Listen to and understand customer requirements and take prompt appropriate action
Work collaboratively with commercial leadership to ensure effective execution of all critical customer communication
Collaborate with Sales on new business opportunities
Ensures root cause analysis of customer complaints using preferred divisional tools and take prompt appropriate action where needed.
Partners with Sales, freight group and Customer service team to optimize inbound raw material (Reco Facilities)
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field required; MBA or advanced technical
degree preferred
10 -12 years of manufacturing leadership experience required with 5+ years as a plant manager. Broader commercial functional experience and/or P&L experience is considered a plus
Strong leadership skills with ability to drive strategy and execution of formalized processes and procedures, motivate and empower teams and relentlessly drive for results
Demonstrated record driving change and process improvement in a highly dynamic and fluid-environment; comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing landscapes is essential
Successful experience with a rapid improvement project, or partial turnaround; driving efficiencies and creating standardized policies and procedures
Commercial-aptitude, with an ability to think strategically about current and future market trends; experience working effectively with current and prospective customers to resolve issues
Superior analytical and problem solving-skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Results driven, works well under pressure, and meets deadlines in a high-performance manufacturing environment with unwavering ethical commitment and behavior
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Communicates effectively across multiple levels, both internally and externally
