THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation Engineering District 11 Traffic Unit is looking for a qualified and motivated individual to fill multiple full-time permanent positions in our 24-hour Regional Traffic Management Center. Apply today for this exciting career opportunity!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Regional Traffic Management Center Operator is involved in the operation of the Western Regional Traffic Management Center and its Advanced Traffic Management Software System (ATMS) for the management of traffic along the covered Interstate and Expressways.

Utilization of, and direct operation of, a series of Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) and traffic detection sensors to locate and evaluate any recurring and non-recurring traffic and incidents which may impact traffic flow along the Regional Freeway System is part of this job.

You will utilize CCTV\'s and related automated centralized HOV controls, detection systems, and signs to monitor and properly operate the daily opening and closing of the I-279/I579 HOV Lane.
