POSITION SUMMARY





The Regional Preplanning director - East serves as a non-selling leadership role within the Catholic Mortuaries Department and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Cemeteries & Mortuaries.

As representatives of the Roman Catholic Church, all employees of the archdiocese are expected to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the mission and objectives of the Church.


Manage non-selling Preplanning Managers at designated locations. Collaborate with executive leadership, director-level colleagues, and consultants to revise, establish, and implement standard operating procedures to further the organization's mission. Monitor regional sales activity to ensure attainment of sales goals with a strong emphasis on high-quality sales production. Develop regional leadership by directing Preplanning teams in their service to patrons, maintaining fidelity to Catholic teachings. Oversee and appropriately manage all processes related to leads, sales activities, and sales outcomes. Maintain the highest standards of ethics, quality, and service throughout all areas of responsibility. Ensure that all direct reports are fully aware of their individual roles, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Promote a productive work environment through consistent supervision, professional development, and motivation of staff. Conduct regular sales and training meetings, addressing topics such as sales techniques, performance achievements, new policies, product contracts, sales objectives, and accomplishments. Monitor the sales performance and skill development of each Manager and Counselor. Develop individual improvement plans, including tailored training, mentorship, and coaching for Preplanning Managers, Counselors, and Trainers. Recommend and implement disciplinary measures as warranted. Routinely visit assigned locations to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of sales teams. Participate in all meetings as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, his office and relevant subject matter experts, reviewing successes and areas in need of improvement at various sites. Facilitate coordination among Managers and Trainers. Act as a liaison between sales teams and related departments, fostering collaboration and teamwork across all cemetery departments. Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Experience


Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant business or sales experience. A minimum of three years' experience in direct sales management with a proven record of consistent sales performance. Demonstrated positive leadership, sound judgment, and adeptness in management. Documented experience in recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining members of the sales team. History of achieving or surpassing sales targets. Comprehensive experience with all facets of the sales cycle. Background in customer service and conflict resolution. Experience in developing action plans and tracking systems to monitor activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities




Extensive Microsoft Office Suite (including Power BI, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), CRM reporting, and industry-specific records management systems. Self-motivated, adaptable, personable, and adept at meeting challenges. Exceptional motivational and training abilities. Manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and foster a collaborative team environment. Willingness and availability to travel daily within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles; occasional overnight travel may be required. Additionally, attendance at conferences, training events, and seminars may be necessary. Develop and maintain constructive working relationships.

Physical and Environmental Requirements







The position entails periods of sitting, standing, and walking, and frequently requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force to move objects, with occasional requirements of up to 20 pounds. Required ability to access four-drawer cabinets up to five feet in height, including reaching above the shoulder for two drawers and crouching to access lower drawers. Ability to sit for sustained periods of time daily, stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach above and below shoulder level, push, pull, grasp, or twist on an intermittent basis.


Compensation: $68,640 - $83,610
