We are seeking a part-time to full-time (24-30 hours per week) Regional Medical Director for remote position with some travel to our centers located in New Mexico.

The hourly range for this position is $113 - $115 / hour.

Responsibilities

The Regional Medical director (RMD), in addition to his/her clinical and individual medical director roles, is responsible for the direct supervision of the center medical directors in the RMD's geographic area. This supervision and oversight includes the recruitment, coaching and development of area medical directors, the assurance of effective quality and utilization management, and the successful transition within area centers to a value-based delivery system. The RMD works with the VPMA and with center and regional leadership to effectively align area medical directors with internal and external partners to achieve successful clinical and operational outcomes.

Medical Director Oversight and Support




Recruit, supervise, develop and coach medical directors at AlignMed centers across the designated region


Assure that medical directors actively support AlignMed initiatives to redesign and transform the clinical model towards value-based care


Assure that medical directors are actively engaged, effective, and successful in center-based quality and utilization management, regulatory compliance, IT/EHR implementation, and business development


Center Medical Director and Clinical Responsibilities




Serve and fulfill all expectations as medical director for one or more AlignMed centers


Provide direct patient care for unassigned patients, sharing on-call responsibilities, at one or more AlignMed centers


Provide interim direct patient care and/or medical director services at other centers within the region as needed to resolve unexpected circumstances


Actively participate in the Genesis HealthCare ACO


Inter-disciplinary Collaboration




Work closely with Area Practice Manager and Director of Provider Relations to assure competent and effective staffing of physicians and mid-level providers in area centers


Actively lead and support inter-disciplinary collaboration within the area to promote team-based care delivery within AlignMed centers


Participate as requested in hospital, physician group, payer, vendor, legislative, and community venues in support of the AlignMed/GHC mission


Corporate AlignMed Medical Leadership




Participate in AlignMed Physician Leadership monthly conference calls and semi-annual meetings


Effectively communicate corporate leadership direction to medical directors in area


Other Duties as Assigned




COMPLIANCE:



1. Complies with and promotes adherence to applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.



2. Provides leadership and support for the Compliance and Ethics Program within management area.



3. Ensures timely and accurate reporting and responses to compliance-related issues and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans related to such issues.



4. Ensures that staff participates in orientation and training programs including but not limited to all required compliance courses and relevant policies and procedures, and that such training is properly documented. Participates in compliance and other required training programs.




5. Provides open lines of communication regarding compliance issues within management area and access to the Integrity Line and ensures that retaliation against staff who report suspected incidences of non-compliance does not occur. Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.



6. Participates in monitoring and auditing activities and investigations, and implementing quality assurance and performance improvement processes, as required.



7. Completes performance reviews and determines compensation and promotions based on the accomplishment of established standards that promote adherence to compliance and quality standards.





QualificationsM.D. or D.O. degree required Board-certified (strongly preferred) or Board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice Current or previous SNF/LTC medical director experience Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.
