N.G. Heimos Greenhouses of Millstadt, Illinois is seeking a full-time Regional Field Manager to join our GardenPro Team. We are a commercial wholesale grower that supplies seasonal plants to multiple retailers throughout Missouri and Illinois. Our focus is providing and maintaining high-quality plants and superior customer service to our retail partners.

They will be responsible for maintaining the plants at their assigned Garden Centers. The Regional Field Manager is also responsible for hiring and training seasonal Merchandisers for each store during the Spring and Summer season. Our ideal candidate will have management experience, plant knowledge and customer service skills. Excellent communication with others and the ability to work both independently and with team members is crucial. This is a full-time position with travel reimbursement. Regional Managers work closely with store management and Garden Center staff to follow through with directives and goals for each store. Traveling to stores throughout the week is required. Regional Field Managers must have reliable transportation and a smart phone. They will report to our GCM Operations Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

Establish a group chat with each store to communicate: store check-in/check-out, weekly shipping notices, Merchandiser schedules and watering schedules Travel to each store on a weekly basis: check-in/check-out with Walmart staff during visit, assist with offloading and displaying new shipments, water plants, assist customers and maintain organization of plant displays Coordinate a watering schedule with stores to ensure plants are being watered everyday Escalate challenges through the Walmart chain of command in a timely manner Recruit seasonal Merchandisers for peak season (Spring/Summer). This includes: creating and posting job description on Indeed, interviewing candidates, hiring qualified candidates, onboarding and training new Merchandisers, hiring replacements for terminated or resigned Merchandisers Maintain communication with Merchandisers throughout the week by phone and in-person at store Assume both Regional Field Manager role and Merchandising role from July through February. This includes two busy seasons: Mum season and Poinsettia season. Participate in weekly conference call with GCM Operations Manager

Merchandising Requirements/Responsibilities:

Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy shipping carts Must be physically capable of working in hot and cold weather conditions Must have a smart phone with access to email and downloading apps Keep plants adequately watered (everyday in hot weather) Offload shipments and display plants in assigned locations Assess when plants are ready to be marked down Inventory clearance and waste plants through smart phone app Answer customer questions about product or direct to a Walmart Associate Keep Garden Center clean and swept

Pay: $18.00 per hour
