The Hartford HealthCare Digestive Health Institute is a fully integrated model of care focused on the management of all digestive diseases and disorders, ranging from essential preventative screening to the most complex care for advanced diseases. The Institute offers coordinated, personalized and convenient care across Hartford HealthCare's seven acute care hospitals, multiple surgery and endoscopy centers and neighborhood locations throughout Connecticut.



The Institute promotes physician collaboration across multiple specialties including gastroenterology, surgical and medical weight loss, general and colorectal surgery, complex hernia and abdominal core health, hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery, GI oncology, nutrition, behavioral health and others. With a sharp focus on excellence and innovation, the Institute offers the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions available and adheres to the highest national standards for quality and safety.

Position Summary:



The Regional Director, providing the overall strategic and operational leadership for the Central Region, is directly accountable for all facets of its operation including managing patient demand and throughput, patient satisfaction, regulatory preparedness, quality improvement, physician satisfaction, employee satisfaction, business development and clinical integration. The Regional Director, working collaboratively with the leadership of the Institute, maximizes resources to achieve identified goals and objectives and participates with the medical staff and other hospital departments in aligning unit operations to ensure quality, safe and timely patient care.



Key Accountabilities:



Collaborates with the regional operations leadership team to develop and monitor operational and capital budget for the Digestive Health Institute, Central Region to assure appropriate resource allocation Provides leadership in identifying resources required to achieve quality and safe patient care results Develops, implements and evaluates programs to promote recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of support staff Collaborates with attending physicians, colleagues and administration with regard to patient care model with a focus on aligning processes to ensure consistency and continuity across the organization Operationalizes service line initiative around performance improvement including quality monitoring and cost reduction. Prepares and oversees various financial and non-financial reports to analyze the impact of actual and/or proposed operational changes in meeting the Digestive Health Institute initiatives Collaborates with Vice President, Digestive Health Institute, to develop annual service line strategic plans and performance metrics Cultivates and maintains physician relationships and serves as a liaison to provider offices to promote standardization of care throughout the continuum Coordinates the preparation and monitoring of the regional budgets and oversees the monthly financial performance as well as other regulatory and benchmarking reports

Qualifications





Bachelor's degree is required Three plus years of experience in the healthcare field Two plus years of leadership experience Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills Demonstrates exceptional communication and engagement skills in working within a large healthcare system Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally The ability to work with diverse groups of physicians (voluntary/full-time, teaching/nonteaching) and appreciate their contributions to the strategic direction of the service line Strong finance background and track record of growing programs and increasing volume
