Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units and HVAC equipment, utilizing schematics and technical manuals.
Install, maintain, and upgrade HVAC systems, air conditioning units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment in commercial or industrial settings.
Conduct routine inspections of refrigeration and HVAC systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to evaluate electrical components and ensure proper system functionality.
Perform plumbing tasks associated with HVAC systems, including pipe fittings and refrigerant line work.
Weld metal components as needed for equipment repair or installation projects.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
Operate a driver or similar vehicle safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment between job sites.
Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions.
Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure ongoing system reliability and safety compliance.
Support emergency repairs during off-hours or in urgent situations to minimize downtime.
Follow all safety protocols related to refrigerant handling (including ammonia), electrical work, welding, and equipment operation.
Proven experience as a service technician specializing in refrigeration, HVAC/R systems, or property maintenance roles.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, boiler operation, welding, and plumbing.
Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, HVAC design principles, and troubleshooting procedures.
Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver preferred.
Knowledge of construction practices related to installing or upgrading HVAC/refrigeration systems.
Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills in field service environments.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for precise repairs or installations.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and documenting work performed.
