As a Referral and Quality Measure Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care through effective management of referrals and quality measures. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the complexities of managed care, medical coding, and compliance with healthcare regulations. You will collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative teams to streamline processes, enhance patient experiences, and uphold the integrity of medical records. We are a compassion-driven Family Medicine office that provides high quality medical care. This is an in office position and will be Monday through Friday 8 to 5 but will occasionally be needed to stay late or come in early to help cover vacations etc. Also, may need to attend vendor events outside of normal business hours.
Manage and coordinate patient referrals to ensure timely access to necessary services.
Monitor quality measures to assess and improve patient outcomes across various healthcare settings.
Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients, ensuring seamless access to care.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding, ICD-9 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD-10 codes for accurate medical billing and documentation.
Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate medical records are maintained.
Cover other departments as needed and be flexible to stay late or come in early
Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule unless covering another shift
Required qualifications
Previous experience in a medical office or dental office environment.
Strong understanding of managed care principles and practices.
Proficient in using CPT and ICD-10 codes to obtain authorizations.
Knowledge of various insurance referral and authorization guidelines.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and their application in a healthcare setting.
Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
