We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills to plan and administer the delivery of statewide training and reemployment programs that emphasize job seeker services.

Examples of Work



Responsible for monitoring federal laws, regulations, and advisories to ensure program compliance. Supervises subordinate staff and oversees daily program operations. In coordination with the Director of Reemployment Services, conducts strategic planning, and identifies areas for process improvement to optimize service delivery. Monitors key performance indicators to assess and refine program performance. Manages program budgets and interprets financial statements. Responsible for federal and state performance reporting on a quarterly and annual basis. Other duties may be assigned based on the successful candidate's strengths and agency needs.
Location: NDOL Administrative Building, 550 South 16th Street, Lincoln, NE


Work Schedule: 8am-5pm; Monday - Friday





Requirements/Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, management, financial management, human services, social sciences or a related field and three years' experience in program or grant management with employment and training programs. Experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.





Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in public administration, business administration, social sciences, or a related field. Experience in researching, interpreting, and explaining state and federal laws, regulations, and advisories; developing complex policies; monitoring/auditing state and federal grant awards; training development, and supervision of customer management systems.





Other:

Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.


Knowledge, skills and abilities:



Knowledge of:

laws, regulations, and local operating procedures governing the delivery of employment and training programs; principles/practices of office administration and management, agency budgeting, and computer technology; computer technology with experience in complex data bases, Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).


Skilled in:

analytical thinking, problem solving.


Ability to:

communicate effectively; present information to others; interact with diverse groups; determining priorities, organize and delegate work, direct and supervise, manage, and motivate staff to meet goals in delivering quality services.
