The Recreation Therapist with Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification provides specialized care for individuals with dementia, including designing activities, managing behaviors, and offering emotional support.

Recreation Therapist with CDP Job Responsibilities:

Addressing behavioral issues of residents, such as confusion or agitation Implementing therapeutic activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction, such as art and music Using effective communication techniques to interact with dementia patients, including welcoming body language and nonthreatening voice tone Providing guidance and support to family members about dementia, caregiving techniques, and available resources

Recreation Therapist with CDP Requirements:

Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification Prior experience with geriatrics and dementia patients preferred * Positive attitude with patient personality
