JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Recreation Supervisor - Programs/Events

The City of Warrensburg is accepting applications for a Full Time Recreation Supervisor-Programs & Events with the Parks & Recreation Department. Starting wage at $36,270.83 - $54,416.96 annually, plus employee benefit package. Minimum Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree or experience in Parks and rec, with supervisory/management/event-planning experience preferred. Must possess a valid Driver's License. On call, after-hours and weekend duty within a 40-hour week is required.


This position is a supervisory and leadership role responsible for planning, coordinating and directing comprehensive programs and events. Develops and implements diversified and comprehensive recreational programs in assigned area. Promote and interpret division activities, programs and policies. Also expected are budget creation and ongoing monitoring of the budget areas that fall under this position. Initiates and follows through with the scheduling of classes, programs, facilities, special events and summer day camp. Plans these programs from start to finish.


The candidate will lead by example, demonstrate a commitment to excellence, possess sound analytical decision-making skills, utilize outstanding communication and time-management skills and be a valuable partner for internal and external stakeholders. Maintains high visibility and remains accessible to the public. Answers questions, deals with concerns, and communicates widely assuring for professionalism. Works independently at a skilled level under the general supervision of the Recreation Superintendent.
