Professional work developing, coordinating, planning, supervising, instructing, and evaluating various Countywide and community-based programs/activities for youth, teens, and adults including but not limited to summer camps, youth development programs/sports, and special events. Facilitates programs/services, and interacts with participants and volunteers with and without disabilities, inclusive of youth and teens. Responsible for transporting program participants. Formulates new programs; meets with the public, parents, groups, schools, and organizations to provide information and to further public relations with the County.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree; minimum of one (1) year of experience organizing and supervising recreational activities.
Equivalency: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; and three (3) years of experience organizing and supervising recreational activities.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must possess current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certifications (must attach copies of certifications to application) OR obtain within six (6) months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE:Working with indoor/outdoor recreational activities or leisure/athletic programs or related volunteer experience; working with culturally diverse youth, teens and adults (must specify on application). Also desirable: Current FL Class C CDL with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements; tri/bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
